SWPL Announces Activation of Enchantment Premier League

Published Sep 30, 2024

LA MIRADA, CA (September 30, 2024) Southwest Premier League today confirms its plan to create another regional pathway for players and clubs with the activation of the Enchantment Premier League.

Clubs are signing agreements to play a Fall tournament beginning in October, with more clubs signing on daily. The Enchantment Premier League will feature as many as 10 clubs from New Mexico and West Texas for the 2025 Spring Season.

Raul Ruiz has agreed to serve as Director of the Enchantment Premier League. Ruiz, a legendary fixture in the game in West Texas, has experience across each of the USASA National Leagues.

“I want to do it better than it's been done before and that's why I'm with the Southwest Premier League on this,” Ruiz said. “The Enchantment Premier League will be important in these communities in New Mexico and West Texas because of the SWPL's connections to high levels. That's important for clubs and for players, and especially youth clubs and youth players. Opportunity is everything, and you run out of opportunities in NPSL and UPSL because they're closed at the top and they don't listen to what people want. The SWPL actually cares about development and is here to grow a real league that means something.”

The 2025 Spring Season champion of the Enchantment Premier League will earn a spot in this Southwest Premier League playoffs, with that winner advancing to play in the NISA Nation national tournament.

Southwest Premier League, with regional divisions in Northern and Southern California, Arizona and Nevada, launched in 1976 as Coast Soccer League before rebranding as SoCal Premier League in 2008 and expanding into the SWPL in 2020.

More details about the Enchantment Premier League roster of clubs, connections to youth acadamies and a potential youth division, and more announcements will be released in the coming weeks.
